Super Bowl XL will open with a bang as Hank Williams, Jr. proclaims “”Are You Ready for Some Football?” in the Super Bowl opening introduction. Williams has greeted Monday Night Football fans for sixteen years and will be making his fifth Super Bowl apperance.
“Not many people can say they have performed during five Super Bowl openings,” Williams said in a statement. “I am so happy to have been part of the ABC family since 1989, and with my love for football, this was a win-win partnership.” Williams has already lined up his Super Bowl tickets and will be rooting for the Steelers.
“My rowdy rebel son Kid Rock and I will be making some noise in Michigan … everyone should be listening,” he said.
Williams will also appear on ESPN’s Cold Pizza on February 2, CMT Insider on February 4, and ESPN SportsCenter during Super Bowl festivities.
