Zac Brown Band’s Colder Weather video, the second single from the album You Get What You Give, was written by Zac Brown, Coy Bowles, Wyatt Durrette and Levi Lowrey. With the video featuring Liam Hemsworth, Colder Weather was Zac Brown Band’s seventh number one hit, following the success of Chicken Fried, Whatever It Is, Toes, Highway 20 Ride, Free and As She’s Walking Away.
“I knew this song was special after we finished it,” co-writer Wyatt Durette told Taste of Country after the Colder Weather became a number one hit. “As a writer, you can just tell when you’ve written something that has the power to be something big. We knew that was the case with this song. It’s special to all of us for many reasons. All of us brought a little something together for this song to make it what it is. This is definitely the most special song for all of us.”
Colder Weather is nominated for Video of the Year and Group Video of the Year at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.
