Neal McCoy performed at the WGNA’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” benefit concert April 1, 2007 in upstate New York which raised funds for the Oatman-Gaitan family from Schenectady, whose home is currently being renovated by Ty Pennington and his “Extreme team.” The family’s two adopted sons are living with HIV. Prior to the concert, McCoy toured the renovation site and hung out with “Extreme team” designers Paul DiMeo and Eduardo Xol and met with the numerous volunteers there to lend a helping hand while the Oatman-Gaitan family is together aboard a private yacht in the British Virgin Islands during the seven day makeover period. McCoy commented, “Seeing a community pull together like this is what it’s all about. I‚Äôm glad I could do my part to help and will bring home more than a good memory of the experience. I got some landscaping tips from Eduardo too!”
