Mark Chesnutt : Savin' The Honky Tonk

Mark Chesnutt has been tagged as Mr. Honky Tonk International just a few short months after Vivaton Recording Artists Group signed an international licensing agreement with AGR Television Records (Hamburg Germany) to distribute his latest album, Saviní The Honky Tonk.

No matter what the language, Country Music listeners in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom of Great Britain as well as Norway, Iceland and Switzerland have identified with Mark and his music to make him the voice of Country Music worldwide. Andreas Graban of AGR Television Music shares his thoughts on the overall reaction of the European listeners: ìIn all honesty, Mark Chesnuttís success is not a surprise. European listeners have always had a genuine appreciation for good country music and his success here is merely a validation that we know good country music when we hear it. Mark Chesnutt is good country music!î

Mark Chesnutt on Television:
Mark Chesnutt has received the privileged invitation to perform at the 13th Annual GACMF (German American Country Music Federation) Awards Show in Erfurt, Thueringen, Germany on January 29, 2005. Mark will take the stage at Messehallen Erfurt, (which can be translated to The Exhibition Center, Erfurt) to introduce the tune that sets the tone and the sound for his entire new album Saviní The Honky Tonk, ìSomebody Save The Honky Tonks.î

The GACMF Awards will be seen by viewers in Germany nationwide (on cable) and Europe-wide (via satellite). The show will be re-broadcast on February 12, 2005 on MDR Television (part of the ARD network).

Other performers slated to appear on the GACMF Awards show include the legendary Lynn Anderson, Rattlesnake Annie and one of Germanyís top country bands, Slow Horses (the best selling English singing German country band in 2003), as well as Silverwood.

Mark Chesnutt on Radio:
Markís debut single ìThe Lord Loves The Drinkiní Manî topped the ECMA Top-100 Country Radio Airplay Chart at No. 1 (Number Survey Number 53 dated January 2, 2005óreleased 01/06/05) making this Vivaton Recordsí first No. 1!
Note: The ECMA TOP-100 Country Radio Airplay Chart is tabulated by computer and based strictly on an airplay playlist report basis. ECMAís Reporters are radio stations, individual shows and/or syndicators, each with European Coverage.

Mark Chesnutt in Print:
Mark Chesnuttís mug covers the face page of January the 2005 issue of Country Music People Magazine. The thirty-four year old, award winning magazine (that spans from Austin to Nashville and beyond) features a six-page spread to introduce Mark to a new international fan base and re-acquaint him with old and loyal listeners.

And for the first time, Chesnutt is a centerfold: the centerfold of Country Music News (January 2005). The Canadian publication has selected Mark Chesnutt’s Saviní the Honky Tonk as the Number 1 Album of 2004 stating ìthe album is a career album and likely the classic example of an artist being given ëartistic freedomí and of an artist who is driven by the artistry of making good country music.î

As a new, aggressive independent label, we do not underestimate the value of the international audience for our artists. We embrace itî says Shelia Shipley Biddy, Vivatonís Executive VP of National Promotion and Artist Development. ìWe are extremely proud of Mark’s success internationally. European fans have long appreciated and valued traditional Country music. Theyíre zeal and acceptance of the new music from Mark Chesnutt is evidence of that. Andreas Graban and the staff of AGR Television Music have made him a priority and it shows in the acknowledgements and accolades Mark has enjoyed in the past few months. We are proud to have them as an extension of the Nashville Vivaton family.î
