Although known for her acting career starring as "Alex Russo" in the Disney Channel’s series "Wizards of Waverley Place," 17-year-old Texas native Selena Gomez has had a passion for music since childhood.
Despite her busy acting career, Gomez made time to pursue her musical dreams. In her premiere album "Kiss and Tell," with her band The Scene, Gomez brings fun, empowerment, passion and righteousness to her music. Her songs range from a mix of rock, hip-hop and pop music to the occasional ballad. Gomez and The Scene released their sophomore album, "A Year Without Rain" in 2010.
Outside of music and acting, Gomez is a UNICEF ambassador and spokeswoman for Borden Milk, and is pursuing her own clothing line. Gomez has already won an American Latino Media Arts award, two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice awards, and five Teen Choice awards.
