Willie Nelson's iconic 4th of July Picnic is making a historic shift to Philadelphia this year, marking the first time in 14 years that the event will be held outside of Texas. The festivities will take place at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, just across the Delaware River from Philly. The lineup for this Independence Day celebration is nothing short of spectacular, featuring music legends like Bob Dylan, Maren Morris, Robert Plant, and Alison Krauss, along with other talented artists.

Bob Dylan, renowned for his contributions to music and culture, joins Willie Nelson as one of the headliners for this special event. The announcement comes as a surprise and delight to fans who have long awaited the opportunity to see these two icons share the stage. Adding to the excitement are performances by Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Maren Morris, Mavis Staples, and guitarslinger Celisse, promising a diverse and unforgettable musical experience.

In a statement, Willie Nelson expressed his enthusiasm about bringing the 4th of July Picnic to Philadelphia for the first time. He described it as an honor to host such a remarkable lineup of talent in the birthplace of the United States, inviting everyone to join in the celebration of Independence Day.

Tickets for the event will go on sale soon, with Citi cardholders enjoying exclusive access to presale tickets. The festival's lineup, which resembles Nelson's Outlaw Tour, includes all the performers at the 4th of July Picnic except Maren Morris. The Outlaw Tour kicks off in June, featuring additional artists like Billy Strings and John Mellencamp in select shows.

This isn't the first time Bob Dylan has graced the 4th of July Picnic stage. His return adds a nostalgic touch, as the last time he performed at the event was in 2009, coinciding with the last time the picnic ventured outside of Texas to South Bend, Indiana.

Last year's Picnic, held at Austin FC's Q2 Stadium, marked its 50th anniversary. This year's event comes shortly after Willie Nelson's album release, "The Border," scheduled for May 31. The album features 10 tracks, including collaborations with longtime partner Buddy Cannon and songs written by esteemed songwriters like Shawn Camp, Mike Reid, and Bobby Tomberlin.

As anticipation builds for this historic 4th of July Picnic in Philadelphia, music enthusiasts and fans of these legendary artists can look forward to an unforgettable celebration of music, freedom, and American heritage.

Basically, the move to Q2 was overall viewed as kind of chaotic in Texas, and we as locals had our emotions about it. But to leave Texas? Ugh it hurts. All we can say is you're welcome, Philly. Enjoy and do it right.
