Robert Earl Keen : Austin City Limits 2010 Performance
Robert Earl Keen’s new Austin City Limits performance will debut nationwide on October 30, 2010. The performance is part of Austin City Limits’ last season in its original studio, which was designated last year as an historic rock and roll landmark by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. In early 2011 the show will move to its new home, a full-time music venue and state of the art production facility in downtown Austin. Keen is one of the series favorites to be welcomed back to the historic stage this season to commemorate the transition.
The Robert Earl Keen band is: Robert Earl Keen (vocals, guitar); Rich Brotherton (lead guitar, vocals); Marty Muse (pedal & lap steel); Bill Whitbeck (electric bass, doghouse bass, harmonica, vocals); Tom Van Schaik (drums). The band is joined by special guests Lloyd Maines (guitar, mandolin); Bukka Allen (accordion, organ, piano); Danny Barnes (banjo); Drew Womack (vocals) and Deani Flemmings (vocals) for a set that includes the new classic, “The Great Hank,” and four cuts from Keen’s current critically acclaimed #1 Americana album, The Rose Hotel – “Throwin’ Rocks,” “The Man Behind the Drums,” “Something I Do,” and “10,000 Chinese Walk Into A Bar.”
