Music City just wrapped up its biggest weekend of the year, and if you weren’t in downtown Nashville over the last four days, you missed one for the history books. From June 4 to June 7, an estimated 95,000 country music fans from all 50 states and over 30 countries descended upon Tennessee to beat the heat and catch over 300 performances.
As always, all of the artists donated their time to benefit the CMA Foundation, supporting music education across the country. But what went down on the stages was pure, unadulterated star power.
Here is your official ACountry.com recap of the most talked-about moments from CMA Fest 2026!
The Shocking Reunion: Florida Georgia Line Rides Again
The absolute biggest headline of the weekend came on opening night at Nissan Stadium. Following weeks of cryptic billboards and text-message teasers, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley shocked the world by reuniting as Florida Georgia Line for the first time since their 2022 split.
Introduced by legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer’s iconic “Let’s get ready to rumble!” catchphrase, the duo walked out through separate sides of the massive crowd singing “Round Here.” They high-fived stunned fans before meeting on stage for an emotional, high-energy rendition of their diamond-certified smash, “Cruise.” While they haven’t announced a permanent rollout plan just yet, it was a beautiful reminder of the era-defining magic these two create together.
Surprise Duets & Main Stage Shockers
Nissan Stadium was the place to be for jaw-dropping collaborations that you won’t see anywhere else:
- Jelly Roll brought the house down on Day 1 with an unannounced appearance. Before launching into his Grammy-nominated track “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” he asked the 60,000 fans, “Can we go to church right now, please?” turning the stadium into a massive, hands-raised sanctuary.
- Ella Langley delivered a massive dose of girl power when she brought out country icon Gretchen Wilson as a surprise guest to roll through a roaring performance of “Here for the Party.”
- Russell Dickerson gave the crowd total fan-service by bringing out rapper Fetty Wap to perform their viral new collaboration, “Boots.”
Passing the Torch: Next-Gen Stars Take Over
While heavyweights like Cody Johnson, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, and Dierks Bentley kept the main stages electric, 2026 proved that the next generation of country music is in incredibly capable hands.
The free daytime stages—including the Chevy Riverfront and Chevy Vibes stages—were packed to the brim with fans catching sizzling sets from rising acts like Zach Top, Tucker Wetmore, Megan Moroney, Carter Faith, and Wyatt Flores. Over at FanFairX inside the Music City Center, fans got up close and personal with the artists for acoustic pop-ups, while panels like the Randy Travis 40-year legacy celebration reminded everyone of the deep roots that make this genre so special.
The Verdict: Between the sweltering heat, the emotional reunions, and the sheer volume of live music echoing from Nissan Stadium all the way down Broadway, CMA Fest 2026 proved exactly why Nashville remains the center of the music universe
