Help Randy Rogers Band Support Amber’s Angels

Randy Rogers Band and ACountry request your help in supporting Amber’s Angels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that hospitalized kids and their families get to experience the magic of the Christmas Spirit just like a normal family by delivering toys and gifts to them at the hospitals, by bringing a toy to the Randy Rogers Band concert at Cowboys in San Antonio, TX on December 17.

If you can’t attend the show, please consider making an online donation to Amber’s Angels.

Randy Rogers Band has been involved with Amber’s Angels and it’s founder, Amberlyn Fett for a few years now. Some of you may remember the benefit held in Austin, TX at Nutty Brown Cafe a year or so ago. If you remember, Amberlyn wasn’t there because she was recovering from a double lung transplant that was required to battle her Cystic Fibrosis. Amberlyn has been working hard all year to make a full recovery because she has a mission in mind…

The organization Amber’s Angels was inspired by Ambers lengthy and frequent visits to the hospital, many of which landed her there during the holidays. She experienced first hand the hardship of spending Christmas away from home and away from her family. It was then she decided to make all those kids just like her a priority every year.

Bring a new, unwrapped toy to be entered in drawings for meet and greet passes, an iPod Nano loaded with RRB Music and much more. Toys need to be for kids ranging in age from infants to 18. In addition to the toy drive, RRB will be selling special edition Amber’s Angels t-shirts and wristbands at shows this month with proceeds going directly to Amber’s Angels.
Please take a moment to read Amberlynn Fett’s letter:

Amber’s Angels has a lot to be thankful this year. On Aug. 6, 2010 we were approved to be a 501(c)(3) Organization. This is something that we had been working hard to achieve. AND we now have a Pay Pal button on our website, www.ambers-angels.org, for your convenience!

I come to you again for our annual Christmas Gift Bag project for Dell Children’s Medical Center. But we are also going to do gift bags for the pediatric unit at the University Hospital in San Antonio as well as the Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio. I spent almost a year in San Antonio after my transplant and I wanted to give back for all they did to save my life. That means we have over 300 gift bags to prepare! We are still in an economic crisis and money is tight for everyone. I ask that you please pray, and try to see if there is any way that you could make a difference for this worthy cause. A lot of these children come from families that are struggling to begin with and even more so now. Just imagine that maybe for some of these precious children the gift bag that they get from Amber’s Angels is the ONLY gift that they get for Christmas. No donation is too small!

The Christmas Gift Bag mission is very dear to my heart. I have spent so many Christmas holidays in the hospital and have seen first hand children that had no one there or even a present to open on Christmas. Christmas is the one time of the year that EVERY child looks forward to. Try to remember how you felt when you woke up Christmas morning as a child, the joy & excitement that you felt when you saw that Santa didn’t forget you. I have been blessed to have family and friends that were there for me and let me know I was loved. My dream is to let every child know that someone cares and is thinking of them. I want to bring happiness to them, one smile at a time. With your help you can make MY dream become a reality for these children.

I was blessed to have a double lung transplant last year that literally saved my life. I have been in and out of the hospital a lot. I have good days and bad days. But the good is starting to outweigh the bad. I have been blessed with people like you who support and wish me well. I want to “Pay it Forward” to the children in the hospital over the holidays. For me the greatest gift besides my transplant is seeing the smiles, joy and laughter that we are all able to provide for these beautiful children.

Without you we could not, as Ghandi says, “…be the change you wish to see in the world…”

Thank you so much to the Randy Rogers Band and to ACountry. com for helping us get the word out! It is becuz of wonderful "Angels" like you that help us to put smiles on childrens faces during the holidays. For just a few seconds when they receive their gift bags they forget that they are in the hospital and they can be a child with joy, laughter and love. That is the best gift of all. Thank you again for all your support. No donation is too big or too small. Debbie Fett Vice President www. ambers-angels. org – said Debbie Fett on Dec 16, 2010
