Vince Gill These Days

What You Give Away, Vince Gill's second single from These Days, is "heaven on earth," proclaims Billboard Magazine:

This stately ballad is the second single from "These Days," Vince Gill's four-disc, 43-song platinum collection. Previous single "The Reason Why" earned Gill a Grammy Award for best male country vocal, his 18th such honor. Needless to say, the gifted singer/songwriter/musician hasn't lost his creative spark. The poignant "What You Give Away" is a challenge to how we live our lives and treat those around us: "You know there's gonna be a judgment day, so what will you say? No matter what you make/All you can take is what you give away." Gill's eloquent vocal is complemented by guest Sheryl Crow, and when the choir joins, it's heaven on earth.
— Deborah Evans Price – Billboard Magazine These Days, released October 17, 2006, is a 43-song treasury of brand new Gill compositions embracing country, bluegrass, pop, rock and jazz stylings and featuring guest vocals by Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Diana Krall, Phil Everly, Gretchen Wilson, Amy Grant, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Trisha Yearwood, the Del McCoury Band, Patty Loveless, John Anderson, Lee Ann Womack, Rodney Crowell, Guy Clark and Jenny Gill, among others.

Vince Gill recently announced plans for a summer tour to follow on the success of his recently concluded These Days Tour.

"We're calling this 'Vince Gill: The Friends and Family Tour, Featuring Amy Grant and the Del McCoury Band,'" Gill announced. "I know that's a real mouthful. But, believe me, it's going to be a real earful, too. We aim to dazzle."

"I always enjoy working with Vince," says Grant, the gospel and pop star who's also Gill's wife. "It's especially exciting to be on the road with him on the heels of his great project, These Days. Between Del and his band, the Sapphire Blue Horn Section and all the other musicians on stage, this will be a great spectrum of music."

McCoury agrees. "Vince is like one of the boys," he says, "great hair, great singer and a pretty good picker. Bluegrass has always been part of his life and it shows on stage."
