Sugarland’s moment of silence in Albuquerque on August 18 marked the band’s return to the stage for the first time since their stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair five days earlier. Surrounded by her band mates and crew, Jennifer Nettles asked the audience for a moment of silence: “I am sure that by now all of you are well aware of the tragedy that occurred at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday. Moments before we were about to take the stage, a huge gust of wind blew in and collapsed the entire stage, wounding over 40 people and killing five. In honor of those people who were wounded and those beautiful lives that were lost, we ask you to stand and join us now in a moment of silence.”

Sugarland’s stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair shortly before the band took the stage. CNN reports: A massive gust of wind brought down a stage at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday night, killing at least four and injuring 24, officials said. Jennifer, Kristian, and the band are safe, as posted on the band’s website: “We are all right after our stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair tonight. Many of our fans and friends in Indianapolis may not be. Please keep them in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever form of strength you are able to send. They need you. Thank you.”

“We found this park that had a little country feel to it and it all worked out,” he says. “If I hadn’t told you that, you would think we would have shot that in North Carolina. The music video has a summertime barbecue feel, like a July Fourth party with fireworks and hot dogs and families.”

They’re starting a relationship ... passing each other in the train station and catching eye contact. I mean, it’s just very romantic. ... Being the girl in the group, I’ve seen so many movies where the guy’s running after the train and she’s leaning out. It just sets that mood.”
